Thakshi and Derek's Words of Love in Harriston, Ontario

I've never really told Thakshi what I love about her, but today at her wedding is a perfect opportunity. Every friend wants to see her best friend meet a good man she loves and can spend the rest of her life with. You take one look at them when they're together, and the idea of "meant to be" is depicted in its truest form and I'm beyond excited to see everything that will unfold as husband and wife for you. I love you both very much, and I wish you a lifetime of laughter and joy.

I am so glad to be part of this journey with you two and can't wait to see what life has in store for you guys. I grew up with Derek since we were kids and have gotten to see him change from a child to a slightly more mature child. I'm so proud of these two and what they have accomplished. Thakshi has been nothing but kind and open-hearted to all of us.

She's very creative, lovely, and caring for herself. Congratulations to our lovely daughter and son-in-law. God bless you.

We are gathered together on this day to witness and celebrate the marriage of Thakshi and Derek. Marriage is a commitment in life where two people confide and bring out the very best in each other. It offers opportunities for sharing and growth that no other human relationship can equal, and a physical and emotional joining that has the promise of a lifetime. Marriage is a journey enhanced by your love, trust, dedication, and faith that you share with each other.

Never did I think I would have the opportunity to marry my best friend, but here I am today. We met as friends seven years ago, but it quickly shifted to something much more. At the time, I could never imagine anyone as special as you seeing anything in me. You're smart, beautiful, caring, compassionate. From the moment I met you, I knew that I wanted to marry you. You have helped shape me into the person that I am today, and I know you will help shape me into a better man tomorrow. Your smile brings me joy, and your love brings me solace. Throughout the years we've been together, you've proven time and time again, you're the one person I can depend on, no matter the situation. Whether it's supporting me emotionally or supporting me physically, like bringing me food for the multiple times I've broken my hand, the only thing better than having the chance to marry you is getting to marry you again one week later. I'm so proud to have a soulmate with such a kind heart and someone that can love unconditionally. I vow to always stick by your side and support you just as you do me. I promise to always love you, and I can't wait to spend the rest of my lives together.

Derek, I feel like I’ve never been able to put into words how much you truly changed my life. From the moment I met you, I knew there was something so special about you. Your kindness, positivity, and adorable dimples just won me over. I’m sure when my friends first met you with your black eye, they were probably thinking, "What is Thakshi doing?" But today, I can honestly say that marrying you is the best and easiest decision I will make in my entire life.

Growing up, I've always dreamed about finding someone that respects and loves me the way that you do, and although we come from pretty different backgrounds, you never made me feel any different. I feel so honoured that you have chosen me to spend forever with. I promise to always respect you and, of course, laugh at all your jokes. I promise to love you for who you are and always be by your side. You are my best friend, and I'm so lucky to officially be your wife.

"I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness to you."

It is my honour to now pronounce you husband and wife. You may seal your vows with a kiss.

For the longest time now, whenever I need advice, she's always the first person I talk to, and the first person I call. I know I can always count on her. It goes without saying that I care about my sister very much, and I couldn't be more proud of her today. Congratulations, little sister and Derek. Wishing you both all the happiness and love in the world.

Introducing for the first time ever, Mr. and Mrs. Derek and Thakshi Beyer.

Thakshi, I know he will love you, take care of you, make you laugh, and just be there for you unconditionally. And if he doesn't, call me. I wish you nothing but love, laughter, and a healthy balance of trashy reality TV and football Sundays.

From the moment Derek was born, I knew that he was special. He has never changed my opinion on that. As soon as I met this beautiful, intelligent, kind, and ambitious young lady, I realized his fate was sealed as he had found "the one." To see the pair of them together is lovely and something that I dreamed would come true for Derek all those years ago when he was a baby. Congratulations, Derek and Thakshi. Here's to a life of continued love and happiness.

Thakshi is the joy of my life. I knew she would always be my little girl and princess. Derek, I couldn't be happier than I am today, knowing that from now on, she can count on you. Thakshi has been the light of my life for the past 25 years, and today, I hand her over to Derek.
