Dearest Brodi, over the course of our eleven years, we've become different people than where we started. We've experienced some of life's most wonderful and not-so-wonderful moments. But through it all, one thing has never changed – we have always been soulmates.

It seems like yesterday that our children were just small, playing with each other. Amanda and Paul were putting Samantha into a little laundry basket, and now she's all grown up. Father in Heaven, thank you for this beautiful marriage. I pray that their marriage would be beautiful for many years.

Brodi, I could list things I love and things I've learned from you, but instead, I'm going to say something I've wanted to say for the past twenty-one years of my life. We both thought we were getting an older cousin on this journey called life, but instead, we got an older brother – something neither of us thought we had and we thank you.

To Samantha, my sister, my friend – growing up with you has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. Never in a million years did I ever imagine that I'd get a little sister and a lifelong friend in one roll of the dice. Please join me in raising your glass to toast the beautiful bride and groom. It was always very difficult being the protective younger brother to my older sister, so when it came to Sammy, protective older brother came much easier. When we were younger, we were discouraged from dating. It still caught me off guard when Sam started. I thought that I had failed in my role as the protective big brother. But as time went on and I got to know Brodi, I realized that he was a kind, intelligent, gentle soul, and most importantly, he made my sister extremely happy.

Love is the reason we have come together today to celebrate the union of two separate lives into one. Today, Samantha and Brodi vow to give each other not only their love but also the strength, respect, and enjoyment of an everlasting friendship.

When Brodi brought this beautiful young girl home to meet us, personally, at first, I was terrified. But we are all here today because she didn't break his heart; she captured it.
