A letter to Meagan and Nate…

Nate, you are the love of my life, my best friend, the one who makes me laugh more than anyone, my shoulder to cry on, and the best dog dad to Harper and Finn. Although it hasn't always been easy over the last few years, I've learned that our love is resilient, adventurous, and as long as we are together, we can get through anything and come out stronger.

Meagan, we have shared so many of life's big and small moments together over the years, from birthdays and holidays to acceptances, graduations, and now marriages. I am so honoured that I've gotten to share all of these moments, but especially today with you. I am so lucky to have made a friend in Meagan who is kind, genuine, compassionate, and always there for you no matter what. I believe everyone should have a Meagan in their life, and I'm so lucky to have the original in mine.

I genuinely couldn't be more excited, Megs, to see things falling into place for you, knowing how hard you've worked to get to this point both personally and professionally. Whether it's quoting a movie, sharing a new song, or just talking about life, you're still the first person I go to, Megs, and I hope that never changes. I'm really looking forward to having you guys closer and hanging out together as we all continue to grow. I'd like to officially welcome you to the family, Nate. I love you guys and wish you both a lifetime of happiness.

Nate, you just surround yourself with the souls that you know that are your like soul, and I'm just so sure that you found that person, and I can't wait to see you spend the rest of your life with your perfect soul.

I am completely honoured that you asked me to stand up here today. You're a standup dude, you're awesome, you are genuine, as TJ said, you match the people that you hang out with around who you are. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for both of you.

Nathan and Meagan, today we are gathered here to celebrate the love you have discovered in each other and support the commitment you are about to make. You are embarking upon a great adventure through which all of us here know you will prevail. Today you enter as individuals, but you will leave here as husband and wife. Find little chances every day to show you're grateful to be partners, to be friends, to be married.

Meagan, I love you because of your intelligence, your wit, your drive, and your humor. I vow that I will be intentional in our love and intentional with the days that we share together. I will support you in all your dreams and desires in our life together. I promise to be the man that you need, the dog dad that Harper and Finn need, and your constant presence of love and support. We are a team; we'll grow together, learn together, and change the world together.

Nate, today and every day for the rest of my life as your wife, I promise to be your co-pilot, to navigate this adventure of life by your side, and to support you through all of life's twists and turns. We'll grow together and learn together. I promise always to be your bright side and to never stop singing in the car and dancing in the kitchen. It doesn't matter if the guy is perfect or the girl is perfect, as long as they are perfect for each other. Nate and Meg, from your lack of time management skills, your active lifestyles, and the love you have for each other, you two are perfect together.

Nathan, you see life as moving from one adventure to the next, and it has meant so very much to me to be a part of your amazing journey. Today, the two of you begin the greatest adventure so far, and I can't wait to see where it takes the two of you.

From the moment we first set our eyes on Meagan, Patty and I have truly been blessed and delighted to have Meagan as our daughter. Meagan was a strong-willed and determined little girl; we couldn't have imagined the joy and happiness we would experience watching Meagan grow up and become such an amazing young woman.

Meagan and Nate, I'll leave you with this: make your house a home where you want to spend time together. Don't forget about romance, go easy on yourselves, give yourself permission to lean on your partner, take care of each other and yourselves too.
