Laura and Jeff were an absolute delight to do wedding videography for. They had a picturesque wedding on-top on the Boler Mountain ski hill in London Ontario, only accessible by ski-lift! Laura and Jeff’s wedding was so light and fun but contained some of the most sentimental moments ever. They had super funny entrances, the couple wrote out personal jokes about all the groups entering the reception and asked one of their friends to MC. They roasted everyone in their bridal party and it was genuinely hilarious!
The extraordinarily sentimental and beautiful moments from their wedding day that really stick out to me are the most personal. Their bridal party was lopsided with one extra bridesmaid than there were groomsmen. This is not abnormal but the true symbolic meaning of the disparity wasn’t revealed until the emotional moment in Jeff and Laura’s speech. Laura mentioned how touched she was by Jeff’s decision to leave a spot in his wedding party for Laura’s brother, who had passed away! When they shared this with everyone at the reception I teared up! It really is such a beautiful thing to do. As someone who got married without an important member of my family present, I really love this idea, and way of honouring them!

The second extremely touching moment at Jeff and Laura’s wedding was in the evening. Nadeem and I had scouted around the venue for a potential evening shoot location. And we came across a perfect little patio with hanging incandescent bulbs. So we asked the couple if they wanted to go film a little scene there, and they were excited! The cute part is that when we were heading back into the venue Jeff and Laura started whispering to each other and then stopped and said they would catch up with us later. At first we were a little confused about what was going on, but then we realized that the two of them had decided to go back and just enjoy a moment alone. That is honestly one of the most simple but sweet things I’ve seen on a wedding day! They just held each other and danced together, just soaking in everything that had just happened on their wedding day!
Weddings go by so fast and you are with other people or separated from each other most of the day, so I loved seeing these two take a moment and do something romantic just for the two of them! (the dancing under the lights scene is at the end of the film!)
It was an absolute pleasure to capture the love story of these two through their wedding day!
